During the appointment, we will have a quick but thorough look at the items you brought in, and we will accept the things that we feel will have the best chance of selling for you. Your items will not sell if they have any stains, rips, snags, broken zippers, discolored armpits, hems down or excessive wear – our buying customers will not consider purchasing items in this condition and we do not sell “as is” items. Have a good look at each item in bright lighting before you bring them in. Presentation of clothing items is critical, and all items sell best when they are clean and well cared for. We give each clothing item a quick steaming to refresh and sanitize them and to remove any wrinkles from transporting them to Grand Central. However, if the items are excessively wrinkled we may have to charge a steaming fee for each item, or they will not be accepted for consignment and returned to you.

Shoes must be in good condition with no scuffmarks, worn heels, very worn soles, broken straps, etc. and a fairly current style. We accept shoes of all sizes.

Purses must be in good condition with no marks or scuffs worn handles, etc, and please check the inside and lining of the purse for any stains, wear, or any forgotten personal items.

We accept costume jewelry, but have a maximum of 20 pieces of jewelry at one appointment – it takes as long to price and itemize a piece of jewelry as it does a three piece suit. We accept necklaces, bracelets, earrings (both pierced and clip), watches, and rings, and some brooches. Please check the items to make sure there are no missing stones/ crystals, that pierced earrings have their backings, that clasps on necklaces and bracelets are working and that watches are running. (Customers will not purchase watches that are not working). We will replace watch batteries for a $2.00 fee. We do sell all jewelry as costume, so please ensure that your items are not real gems/ gold.

Please do not be offended if we don't accept all the items you bring in–we must accept those items that we feel will have the best chance of selling for you, and hope you will trust our experience in this matter.
